From Jan. 21 - 25, 2019, the winter school will bring together international experts in deep learning to share their expertise and provide a first-hand account of the fascinating developments and opportunities in this area. The school is organized by Marcus Liwicki, François Fleuret and Paolo Favaro under the Doctoral Program in Computer Science of the CUSO universities. It is primarily targeted at PhD students in computer science in these universities.

Paolo Favaro will give a talk at the Light Field Workshop at Fraunhofer Institute on Feb. 22, 2019.
The aim of this RealVision training meeting is to "combine expertise from several disciplines, i.e. engineering, computer science, physics, vision science and psychology – that are usually disconnected – and train the RealVision Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) to be capable of working with all stages and aspects of visual processing to overcome existing interdisciplinary and intersectorial barriers to efficiently develop truly perceptually better visual imaging systems."
Further details about the workshop will be posted shortly on the website.
In its fifth edition, the International Biomedical and Astronomical Signal Processing (BASP) Frontiers workshop will welcome 100 participants to discuss topics in theoretical, astrophysical, and biomedical signal processing, with a particular focus on imaging. Prof. Paolo Favaro will give a talk titled “Blind Deconvolution: A Journey from Model-Based to Deep Learning Methods”. The workshop will be from January 3-8 2019 in Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland.
IEEE have recently organized a summer school on Light Field Data Representation, Interpretation and Compression and invited Prof. Paolo Favaro to give a talk. His presentation covered topics in light field processing such as depth estimation, extended depth of field, super resolution, reflection separation and motion deblurring. The school took place at Mid Sweden University in Sundsvall, Sweden during May 28 - June 1, 2018.
